If you're in the UK you can try the 1901 census site

www.1901censusonline.com

You can do a basic search for free, but you have to pay for detailed results, it will tell you who was living in your house in 1901, their occupations, etc

Or just type your address, or part of it, into a search engine, sometimes you can strike lucky and find some details on the web.
