Like most girls, i've bought SEVERAL foudations trying to find my perfect match, the thing is that (i've noticed) that when I buy any foundation i always have the same DANG PROBLEM! it sounds weird, but it's true. I put on a foundation, but up close it looks as if it isnt my color and it's WAY to light for me. But even though it looks like that, as in the texture and stuff, it makes my skin look DARKER?! WHAT'S going on?

  1. could be the lighting in your room or bathroom or where ever you aply make up

  2. I would have to say its the lighting. I notice this with eyeliner, strangely enough..I apply it in one room, and then if I go to another room and look at my eyes, it looks like I'm only wearing eyeliner on ONE eye! Very bizarre. But, I suggest you go somewhere like MAC or Sephora, where you can get matched to your perfect foundation, based on your skin type, the amount of coverage you want, and they will (of course) find the perfect shade for you. Best thing I ever did was go into MAC and get matched...before, finding foundation was really all guesswork. :P

  3. as said before its probrbly the lighting so apply your makeup with a hand held mirror facing a window that gives out plenty of light so that you can see what colour you wil be when you get out side.

and secondly when you go shopping for foundation next time choose three different tones of foundation and put them in in lines next to each other on to your face and rub them in (dont blend them they need to be in separate lines) and go out side look in a mirror and see which line has completely disapeared and the one that does is you foundation colour!

oh by the way dont go in to the store wearing foundation as it will just change the colour when you try out the new ones(pretty obvious i know but alot of people make that mistake)

    hope i helped

    good luck

  4. It sounds like you're using liquid foundation and those usually don't blend well with skin. I only use bare minerals, it really blends in and looks a lot more natural than regular foundations. You can order a starter package online from bareminerals.com that comes with 2 colors of foundation to try or order a larger container from bareescentuals.com. They also sell it at Ulta if you have one near you. You should choose the color that looks most like yours and it should blend in even if it's not exact. Most women are medium for the starter pack, I use medium beige because I have a warmer skin tone.
