WEighted pushups?

u do weighted pushups? i weight 170lbs and i can do 15-17 pushups in a row with 120lbs person sitting on my back. what do u think?

  1. If the person is sitting on your shoulders or far up your back that is good. But it'll probably be better to do more correct push-ups rather than 15-17 heavy but incorrect ones.


  2. You should ask a trainer about that. I don't think it sounds like a good idea to have extra weight on your back while doing push-ups. It is important to keep your back strait and have good form while you do push-ups and if extra weight is doing this then it won't be a good idea. If your form is still perfect even with someone on your back then it could be good. but really you need to have someone watch you do push-ups to determine whether your form is good.

    Besides the possible back injuries you can get (if your form is wrong) it would be more beneficial to you to do a whole lot of regular push-ups. Try doing a hundred regular ones. If you want to make those harder you can do them on your knuckles or place you hands so your hands make a diamond shape. for more information on fitness and nutrition go to crossfit.com
