WGC-Bridgestone: Scott and Els reunited in Ohio
The European Tour is heading towards Ohio, as it is time for the WGC-Bridgestone 2012. The top ranking golfers are going to gather at this event to fight for glory.
The venue for this auspicious event is the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, USA. The four-day event is scheduled to start on the 2nd of August and is going to end on the 5th of August.
This is going to one interesting tournament, as tremendous amount of excitement and thrill is going to be involved. The list of players who are participating also includes Australian professional golfer Adam Scott and South African professional golfer Ernie
Els.
In the tournament, the two players are going to be reunited. The last time they came face to face was at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Course for the British Open Championship.
At the Open, Els captured his fourth major win. Adam Scott could have easily won the Open. Unfortunately for him, he was not able deliver on the last day.
After the third day, Scott was well in the lead from the second position holder, Els. Scott ended his day with four consecutive bogeys, which cost him the title.
Els was able to score seven-under par on the end of the last day and was the new British Open Champion. The four bogeys in the end left the Australian at six-under par.
Now Scott will be back with vengeance in his eyes. 12 months ago, he was able to bag the WGC title and now he will be looking to defend his title against the best in the world.
On the other hand, Els will have new determination and will not rest after the Open Championship. He has bagged the WGC-Cadillac Championship twice.
Nonetheless, he does not have that good of a record at the Firestone CC. The South African might suffer on this account. He has not been able to give many good performances at the course.
After picking the Claret Jug, the 42-year-old has new confidence and will be able to take any challenge head-on.
