WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GYMNASTICS AND ACROBATICS???

ive done gymnastics for a few minths before and as well as dance(jazz)

now its almost the beginning of the school year and i only want to join one after school activity either gymnastic or dance . then i heard about acrobatics which has a lil bit of dance .

so my real question is down to this -

gymnastics and acro? whats the diff? whats the same?

The same is the flexibility and the flips the difference is most acrobatics is done in the air for example like those hoops that are tired on to rope and lifted in the air or tissue which is the 2 long pieces of fabric hanging from the ceiling. Acrobatics can also be done in pairs half the time whereas gymnastics and only done as a singular person.


  2. Acro is comparable to floor in gymnastics. Gymnastics has four events, floor, beam, bars, and vault. In the floor routine there ar several tumbling passes as while as some basic dancing. Acro is more like contortion. It can include tumbling as well, but it focuses more on flexibility and balance. I do both and I don;t think I could choose between them. Depending on what you want to do with it should be your deciding factor. Either way, they are both very fun and challenging to do.
