  2. AB negative is the rarest but, from the point of view of blood transfusions, type O can only receive blood from type O donors. All other types can receive their own type and O. So, group O is most in demand for blood transfusions and, therefore, the rarest for blood transfusions.

    Rhesus negative is recessive, and rarer than positive.
