  2. As was suggested by another, depends on what you hope to achieve with the herbs.

Here is a very old tea combo that tastes good and is safe for continuous use: equal parts Agrimony, Lemon Balm, Dandelion, Peppermint & Raspberry leaves.

Rooibos tea is herbal, no caffeine, tastes a bit like black tea & very high in antioxidants. Some people like it mixed with Lemon Balm.

In Chinese restaurants they serve Chrysanthemum tea as it is thought to be safe even for children and the elderly. Rather bland by itself; can be mixed with Roses, Jasmine or Lavender or with Lemon.

Any tea can be made tart with the addition of a little Hibiscus. Orange or lemon peel adds a pleasant fragrance. Chamomile smells a little like apples. Mint can be relaxing or stimulating, depending on what it's mixed with. Licorice root or Stevia leaves adds sweetness without sugar. Cinnamon, clove, allspice, nutmeg add the illusion of sweetness. Roasted Chicory or Dandelion root are fair substitutes for coffee. Raw Dandelion root is mildly sweet and roasted smells a bit like chocolate.

  3. I told my Chinese friend who is a famous researcher in Tianjin in Chinese herbs that I was attracted to Chinese Medicine because there were only five main organ systems. He replied, "That is so, but there are five thousand Chinese herbs and five hundred thousand prescriptions (meaning combinations of herbs in tea.)" So you may find many that are good, but perhaps you could think of what you want to achieve with the herbal tea. Then pose your question again.

  4. Ginger Peppermint.
