  1. uh... chips?

  2. NO, not lame. Super inventive and shows you care about the person. Personalized gifts are the best.

As the others have suggested, cute serving platter or bowls and some chips would offset nicely. But how about a movie to go along with that??  Perfect evening is sitting in front of a good movie with salsa and chips!!

  3.     Crackers or home made dills.

  4. I've seen (now I live in Texas) nice "Mexican Hat' bowls where you put the salsa inside and the chips surrounding the salsa.  They are a bit big for a cute little bag, tho.  You can try tortillas or a special brand of a small bag of chips.  Guacamole or a nice pita breads would be good, too.  I've seen hundreds of reasons to eat salsa.  My son in law eats it on eggs for breakfast and steak with dinner.  Even GRITS!  (Gotta love Texas).  How about a nice recipe for a 7 layer salad or enchiladas with a cream sauce?

    Just getting hungry.

  5. You could do a bowl to hold the salsa or chips, the chips, pickles, crackers and cheese, etc. If you want to include a little more, get a DVD or a gift card for a movie or something.

  6. I made salsa as a gift for my coworkers a couple years ago. I didn't do a whole basket though, as we had a monetary limit to gifts. So I canned the chipotle salsa and made a chili pepper ornament from modeling clay. It was a chili pepper wearing a cowboy hat and he had a big Texas sized mustache. I baked them in the oven after sculpting, then painted them. I wrapped the jar of salsa in an inexpensive red bandana and then tied the chili pepper ornament on with raffia. Everyone thought it was really cute. You could do the same idea and I think your friends would be happy. Good luck and be creative. The best gifts to receive are ones that someone put time and effort into making for you.

  7. i don't think it's lame...I think it's a really cool idea.

I'd put tortilla chips and a nice big party bowl.

    =]

  8. That's a nice idea!

Yes, add some festive bowls and some good tortilla chips. Also add a few nice napkins, either reusable cloth or festive paper.

    Good luck!
