  1. Hey,

It's most likely to be a cavity, which is basically a little hole in your teeth where sugar has eroded it over time, you need to get to the dentist soon, the longer you leave it, the worst it can get. Sometimes you can get whats called an abcess in your tooth, which is basically like an infection at the bottom of the roots...this is usually what causes pain when you bite down because your teeth roots are inflamed from the abcess. If the cavity is only small you can get a filling down, this doesnt take very long and its not painful at all, if the cavity is bigger, you may have to have a 'root canal', where they clean out the decay in the tooth and in the inside of the roots and then fill it up with some rubber like stuff to stop it going nasty again, they also give you antibiotics to get rid of the abcess. I've heard root canals should be painless...i'm having my first one done this thursday, which i'm kinda nervous about, but apparently they're not too bad, i've had fillings and extractions, and i've survived them!!!

In the meantime....avoid things like starburst and really chewy sweets, they can cause a load of damage (trust me on this one) and if you're getting toothache or you can see a little dark hole in your tooth AVOID fizzy drinks at all costs, this includes fizzy water because the little air bubbles get stuck in that hole and press on the nerve inside your tooth...the toothache just isnt worth it!! Of course, this is worst case scenario, and i dont mean to scare you...but get to your dentist asap cuz u dont wanna end up like me!!!! Gd luck, hope it feels better soon!!

  2. It sounds like a cavity. You'll have to go to the dentist to get it checked out and filled. Better go sooner rather than later, because the cavity will get bigger and more painful.

Getting a cavity filled hurts sometimes, but not too much, especially in the back teeth. If the cavity is especially big it will hurt more, but the dentist will most likely give you a shot in the gums to numb the area. This hurts a little bit, but again, not too much.
