Talk to him.   I am guessing that he is younger than you.   You are on a different plane now from when you were both younger and interested in the same types of things.   I am guessing that he is missing you and wants to have your attention back on him.

If you live in an area where you can go to the beach, then take walks on the boardwalk.   If not, ride your bikes around the block or in the park together.   Just spend some time with him.
