Me and my two girls are going to Mexico, this summer from July 2 to July 29. My two daughters are both born in the United States, and I'm a legally resident. But my husband is not going. My Mexican passport is expiered.

My two daughters' passports are still good.

My question is what kind of legally documents do I need?

And does the Mexican Consulado have a website or a number?

I live in Houston,Texas.

Thanks for all your help!

  1. Basically, you need a valid passport, and you also need a notarized letter from your husband saying that you have his permission to take the children out of the country and into Mexico (this is meant as a counter parental abduction measure).

The address for the Mexican Consulate in Houston is

    4507 SAN JACINTO ST., 77004.

    HOUSTON, TEXAS

    Tel: (713) 271-6800

    Fax: (713) 271-3201

  2. Option A: Contact your travel agent for GENERAL information

Option B: Call a certified passport service in your local yellow pages...note there are fees associated with this service

Option C: Check with your local (official) US post offices as some of them have passport offices in their locations.

Note: Make absolute certain that your documents are 100% correct, current and legal. You do not want to be detained or deported by the Border Patrol or US Naturalization service...esp. if you are accompanying minors.

  3. why not renew your passport? it is always a good idea to travel with a passport,
