  1. First off, having been raised Muslim, I can tell you that the true faith only restricts as such.  Girls and boys should not co-mingle without having others around and a woman should be modest and cover her bosom.  Yes, some cultures, and I stress cultures, require more.   If a woman is of this background, then she must cover completely.  She can wear a scuba diving suit.  If that is not enough, she can cover herself with non-body conforming clothing.  Mostly the problem stems from cultural practices rather than religious ones.  Anyone who has read the Qur'an would know this.  I know this is not the norm for most.  They can also counter this be being in classes taught by the same s*x and offered only to same s*x persons.  Again, I am recognizing cultural differences.  I competed as a swimmer my whole life and never was this an issue.  I wore traditional swimwear that most see every day.  My father is devout and built a mosque, in fact.  But, I must say, he is a true Muslim and well cultured.  Not that most Muslims are not, just that the idea exists that they are not.  If you encounter a woman in this otherwise situation, be kind and smile as she is most likely to be well educated and, to your surprise, probably more liberated than you would think.  Just not to the "naked eye".

  2. Here's what I found

  3. they (women) actually wear those things (burqas i think they're called) in the water

    seriously

  4. they wear a swimsuit that covers their arms, legs, back and stomach. and they cover their hair with a swimming cap.

i have been to many pools, and they just wear something that covers their bodies. they dont always wear a headcap.

i do not think that they wear the burqas in the pool, since the pool can destroy (cholrine and stuff) and they are like over $40 sometimes
