  1. First of all, loving children and teaching children don't always go hand in hand.  If you think you would love teaching children, then the next consideration would be the age group.  Unless you plan to teach middle or high school, you won't just be teaching math.  If you love the ages 12 - 18 and math, then you would need to major in education and let your advisor know you want to concentrate on being a math teacher and build your courses to do so.

  2. Go to a collage or university and major in teaching

  3. Keep in mind that all universities differ slightly. And it depends. Do you wan't to teach Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary? Early childhood is preschool - grade 2; Elementary is k-5; and Secondary is 5-12. For the most part. If you want to teach younger kids I believe you need a major in early or elementary ed. But if you're a simple math major, you should be able to get into secondary. I'm a secondary english student myself so this is just based off my own experience. Definitely ask your advisor

  4. I'm currently majoring in math at UCLA and I'm going to be a high school math teacher. To be a math teacher, you need your bachelor's degree and a teaching credential and you need to pass the CBEST (a general test that most people say is easy) and the CSET (subject exam, in your case math), along with other small requirements (for example, pass constitution exam...).  You don't have to major in anything specific, but I would recommend majoring in math to help you pass the CSET and to make you a better math teacher.  You could get a second major or a minor in education, or what I'm doing is getting my bachelor's in math, then getting my master's in education (I'm getting my master's because you'll get paid a lot more as a teacher, even though a master's isn't required). Hope this helped!

  5. You will need to get a degree in education on the elementary level. However, in elementary school, most teachers are required to teach all curriculm. You have to teach on a high school level to just be a Math teacher. That would require a degree in Secondary Education with a Minor in Math.

Look for a college that has a good education curriculm.

  6. Best thing would be to do is get ahold of an adviser at the university that you attend.... They would be able to tell you which classes you would have to take to complete the major.
