Downtown Disney is more than shopping and restaurants.  The site given before is a great place to read all about it.  Disney Quest is there and much much more.

downtown disney is a large area of disney that is filled with tons of shops from candy store, to a christmas store, to a lego strore, and many other strores where you can find many disney porducts from clothes to toys and everything inbetween.

there are also many restaurants like:

rainforest cafe

captain jacks

planet hollywood

downtown disney also has pleasure island which has a bunch of clubs and restaurants to go to. pleasure island will be close forever as of sept. 27th because disney wants more family orientated entertainment at down town disney. in place of the clubs they will put more shopping areas and more restaurants.

also at downtown disney is disney quest which is a huge arcade type place with all kinds of games and there are even ride simulators so you can feel like you are on pirates of the caribbean with out actually being on it. or you can create your own rollercoaster complete with drops and loops and then you will really feel like you are on your rollercoaster.

disney quest is pretty expensive thoug.

Downtown Disney is like a huge outdoor mall with shopping, restaurants, and other entertainment.  They have mostly upscale dining but a few fast food places.  Shops consist mostly of those that sell Disney merchandise.  There is also a Cirque du Soleil show here as well as a AMC movie theater.  If you are old enough, you can buy admission to clubs on Pleasure Island.  However, being Disney, everything is very expensive.  Hope this helps and have a good time in Orlando.

Downtown Disney is just a whole bunch of stores and restaurants. It also is a great place for grown-ups to go for some fun.

Disney is on line and you can look at it there.  I'll put a link below.   But they have entertainment, dining, and shops.  It's a place adults go to buy things and eat!  Movies too as I recall.
