WHAT IS FIREFOX, and is it a good thing?

sHOULD I DOWNLOAD FIREFOX? Also, where could I find more information?

Firefox is an internet browser just like Internet Explorer and it allows you to browse the internet. I would not recommend Firefox since I've been using Internet Explorer for who knows how many years and it's great. Unless you want to try something new, then use firefox.

Firefox is an internet browser just like Internet Explorer. My husband works for an internet company and constantly hooks up computer systems. He runs into a various amount of people on the job and all the technology specialists more experienced than he is, were repeatedly recommending Firefox to him over Internet Explorer. At first I was hesitant to change because I've used Internet Explorer for so many years but I realized my husbands coworkers knew what they were talking about. We gave it a try and I was hooked from day one. Firefox in my opinion works a LOT faster than Internet Explorer.  I didn't change anything else other than my browser, Firefox over  IE and I've been very happy. It is a safe application so if you want, give it a try and if you like it, keep it and if you don't like it you can uninstall it whenever you like. They have a website. I've listed it below and by the way, I am writing you using the Firefox browser. If and when you decide to install it, it will look a little different at first but you can customize it just like Internet Explorer.  In fact when I open my home page it looks the same as when I used IE except it's faster and doesn't have so many error messages, in my opinion. Good luck...I think you'll be happy.

Firefox is an alternative internet browser.  I highly prefer it over Internet Explorer.  It's much faster and easier in my opinion.  I say go for it.

It's a trendy alternative to Internet Explorer.

IE 6 is safer and better, but if you upgraded to IE 7 you're already as bad off as the people who are using FireFox.

They fact is all browsers today have become more advertisement friendly.  If you aren't computer savvy... or are part of the multitudes who THINK they are but actually just buy into marketing and get their info primarily from magazines, you're completely for sale.

Firefox is an alternate web browser that has many more features, much more spyware/adware protection, a much better pop up blocker, the ability to add extensions (ad blockers, video downloaders), the ability to add themes, and tabbed browsing (unless you are already using IE7) I HIGHLY recommend it over IE!!!

also, Sara: your history isnt lost, its just taken out of the history bar at the top.  you can click the "show all history button and it will give it to you.

I recommend it. I use it and it is just like Internet Explorer but with more spyware protection and less pop ups. Also, when you close a window your history is lost, so if you need to keep all of your history for some reason, you may want to keep Internet Explorer. I like it though, and you can easily make links to your favorite websites by dragging the icon by the address to a bar beneath the back arrows.
