WHAT IS MAKING MY 1995 VOLVO 960 RPM GOING UP AND DOWN UP CONSTANTLY WHENEVER I'M ALWAYS ON A RED LIGHT?

  1. throttle body assembly coked or fast idle valve and the most easy thing to do is check your antifreeze level or vaccum leak


  2. My 2001 S60 did this in park. Its just a software issue in the ETM. If your car has one idk.

  3. could be a few things. if you have a engine light on. have a mechanic check it out.

    other than that sounds like a ECT sensor(engine coolant temp) or a dirty throttle body

  4. Have the air mass meter checked for proper air/fuel mixture, the ecu is trying to compensate. In addition check for vacuum leaks.

  5. in consumer report i heard volvos are cars that your not supposed to get...-too late. my mom has a volvo 850 from 1995 and so many things are wrong with it. although its 13 years old..still.

  6. yeah they are right , might be some air in the system  U have to bleed the system and it prob. does that in park also,,,
