  1. A high quality puppy food should help put weight on any dog, since they're always higher in fat.

These are all very good puppy foods (they have store locators on their websites):

Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul: http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssou...

    Innova Puppy: http://www.innovapet.com/

California Natural-Chicken & Rice or Lamb & Rice Puppy: http://www.californianaturalpet.com/

    Wellness Just for Puppy: http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/

Artemis Medium/Large Breed Puppy Formula: http://www.artemiscompany.com/

    Blue Buffalo for Puppies: http://www.bluebuff.com/

    Merrick Puppy Plate: http://www.merrickpetcare.com/

**Also, here is the recipe for "Satin Balls"...it's good for putting weight on dogs that need it: http://www.njboxers.com/satin-balls-reci...

  2. try purina beneful for puppies, it has all kinds of extra stuff puppies need to gain weight and will work faster on a older dog.....you may need to give them some vitamin supplements, or you could do chicken and rice!!!

  3. you need to say what country you live in,because brands are different world wide

as a general rule NONE from grocery store, or Wal mart are any good

most from big box pet stores are c**p too!

read this link so you can easily determine quality by glancing at an ingredeint list

    http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/What-is-in-...

its easy to read and VERY helpful

look at independant pet stores, or groomers. OR livestock feed stores - this is where I buy my pet food.. its $4-6 cheaper than pet stores.. they have all ranges of quality good to junk.

if she is under 18 months, you can have her on puppy food still

or select an ACTIVE BREED formula

    feed small amounts more often...

make sure she is dewormed and vet checked for health problems

  4. I had a pit that when I got him he had both skin poroblems and he was under weight. I used Nutro for dry dog food (its all natural) and Natures choice as a added canned dogfood(again all natual) it is a raw frozen dogfood. My pit gained exceptionaly well and all his hot spots dissapeird with in days. Luck

  5. I know exactly what you're saying, I have a 11 month old female pit and I've tried everything for her to put some weight on, and she just won't. I talked to my vet (whose expertise is pits) and he said there's not a lot you can do besides wait til there body gets older and they quit burning so many calories. I know this isn't what you wanna hear but they're just like people for some its hard to gain/lose weight.

  6. just feed her more than she should (but not too much) , and you shouldn't switch dog food so ofen, she may end up with an upset stomach.
