Main reason for me is Fail in pitch reading, Lack of Application on the field while batting, No stratergy to play M on slow and uneven bouncy pitch while restricting the SL lack of attack from the frontline bowlers fails to get regular breakthrough

Sehwag & Sachin were not dropped, they were out because of injuries and India's heavy cricket schedule for the year has started to take its toil.

Sri Lanka is on a roll and they will keep going unless some random huge miracle happens from the Indians. This isn't hard to do, from the Indians perspective, but they just have lost all their confidence in their ability, and the Sri Lankans are getting more confident. If the Indians get more confident, then the whole entire team will work together, and do well.

DHONIS presence in indian cricket is a pain..

i dont understand why dhoni is made as a captain.. he him self cannot bat and how do u expect him to handle other 10 players.. he needs some sought of training or he shud b send back in domestic cricket.. ICC is doin a biggest mistake by not allowin senior players to participate.

2. Strong Bowling by Srilankans

3. No strategic planning

4. Poor bowling performance by Indians

lack of experience & confidence against M&M~

Experienced batsmen might have survived well, than this YOUNGSTERS IN ODI too,There is no doubt that the Indian batsmen have no clue to deal with Mendis and Murali duo. Their body language says it all. Look at Yuvi. In yesterday's game he played just 4 balls of Mendis . Had no idea of the first 2, hit a six of the third out of desperation and got bowled of the fourth ball.

~Less we talk about Dhoni the better. Indian team is really jinxed by the Lankan spinners. Real humiliation is key players are getting clean bowled !!! If they continue to bat like this, results will continue to be the same and we will see a miserable 5-0 defeat. It is high time key players like Gambhir, Yuvraj and Dhoni work out a game plan to deal with the Lankan attack, especially 20 overs of Mendis & Murali and be really positive in their approach to put up a defend able total. Gambhir is the only player other than Sehwag in this team who played the spinners well in test matches. It may be a good idea to push him down the order to deal with the spinners and allow the likes of Pathan, or even Yuvraj to open, use long handle with the new ball and take advantage of power plays.

They should definitely recall players like Yusuf Pathan or Robin Uthappa in the place of Sehwag for the third game . Time is running out.. Dhoni act fast.. any ways still when facing M&M it will be the difference, its easy said than DONEso,.... still i think SL has upper hand~

no experience batsman in India's batting lineup, fielding was not even satisfying. the board and the selectors must understand that T-20 and 50-50 are completely diff format! its okay if the captain ms dhoni wants his young players to play as many matches as possible before the world cup 2011 but he should understand that loosing again and again is letting the team's confidence down!the seniors are a must at present!

Well Indians really haven't have some good defending in last few years. Just once in last 2 years (2007/8) they've defended a total less than 200 (against WI at Cuttack in Jan 2007) in ODIs. India had a bad start today with Gautam Gambhir on a golden duck and a good opening is mostly necessary (always for India) to win the match. Hope so Sehwag is back soon or else India'll have opening woes once again.
