does anyone tell me what is the"memory effect".

i just bought a Ni-Cad batteries online:

they dont tell me how to use battery,

and i hear someone saying:batteries suffer from what's called the "memory effect". can anyone tell me. thank you

  1. It means that it slowly loses battery life until it all leaches away. Ni-cad cannot hold a good charge and is harmful on the enviroment, you should have gone for lith ion


  2. Nickel Cadmium batteries suffered from a charge memory. The new LIthium Ion batteries don't.

    That is, if you recharge your battery before it is completely discharged you will not be able to charge it fully because the battery memorises the % of charge that it needs to fill it and it will fill to the same amount when you charge it again, instead of filling it completely.

    In this way, the battery memory has the effect of reducing the capacity of your battery.

    You can erase this memory by putting the battery in the freezer or make sure the battery is totally flat before you charge it.

  3. What memory has to do with your Battery???!!!

    Memory does not need any power from battery or anywhere else as far as I know memries are attach to your mother board,and some virtual memory its designated area in your Hard drive or motherboard!!!!!
