WHAT Is it called when this happens?

one of my friends was putting the lugnuts back on my car to put the tires on and he tighten them so hard that now they dont tighten anymore u just keep going and going around in circles and it never tightens.. or the lugnuts dont fit anymore... what do u have to do if this happens? and what is this called when this happens?

  1. It's called a stripe out lugnut or crosstreaded stud .If it's just one  that's bad and you still have four good one's left you'll be ok to drive it. if not then you will need to replace the stud or stud's .


  2. You have just stripped the lug nut and the stud. So you have to go up to a auto parts store and get new studs you can just get the ones you stripped but if i was you i would get all of them for that tire which is usually  4 to 5 studs you should get new lug nuts too and they will all go on so easy after you get new lug nuts and studs. Dont tighten the lug nuts onto the studs so hard too! just snug them lol

  3. he's done "stripped his nutz'! best head for for a tire shop with lots of bucks and get it fixed...
