WHAT STATE HAS THE LOWEST COST OF LIVING?

WOULD LIKE TO LIVE WHERE TAXES AND HOUSING COSTS ARE THE LEAST AND UTILITY COSTS AC/HEAT ARE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

  1. I live in Gulfport, Ms. and just wanted to point out that since Katrina, the coast has become much more expensive. Rents are WAY up due to housing shortages and what has now become almost prohibitive insurance rates, which we have all just been imformed will increase another 14% this fall. While gas and utilities remain below the national average, Ms is a state that sees fit to tax groceries 7%. ( Just paid $5.34 for a gallon of milk!!). As far as I know this is the only state to do so. I have lived in Colorado, Penn, Fla, and NC, and to be honest, the Gulf Coast of Ms is comparable to any of those places in cost of living, and the insurance companies are doing their best to make owning a home or business here nearly impossible. Just a heads up from someone who was here before and after Katrina.


  2. Chris and Kodo are correct but check on states taht do not have a state income tax such as TN  

  3. Southern states tend to have the cheapest cost of living. Places like Mississippi, Arkansas, and Kentucky tend to rank lowest in costs.
