  1. I know it is deadly to horses and cows, so, probably cats too. Take him to the vet!

  2. I know it can be deadly to horses, not sure about cats !

Why not google it or ring your vet for advice

  3. In horses ragwort damages the liver.  SInce cats have relatively poor liver function and are susceptible to poisons, it seems likely it would cause liver damage to them as well.  I've personally never come across a cat that has eaten ragwort as the plant is not attractive to cats - it has a bad flavour.

Symptoms of liver damage could include:  loss of appetite, depression, diarrhea, weight loss, jaundice (which gets worse as more damage is done), abnormal behavior (toxins in the blood reach the brain) such as blindness and seizures.  If the liver damage is severe, advanced jaundice and death result within a few days.  These would depend on how much has been consumed and how badly the liver is damaged.

I don't have specific data on ragwort with regard to cats, but I have encountered liver damage due to other causes so this is only a general indication of symptoms.

  4. No idea.

Sounds like you're gonna have to wait & see & hope for the best!
