WHEN should I apply for Unemployment Compensation?

Question

My position at work is being terminated (through no fault of mine) and my last day is August 31. Should I apply for Unemployment Compensation then or the next day OR should I be applying right now - about a week before my last day?

More than likely, your state has a website set up for unemployment compensation.  Search for the name of your state and the words unemployment compensation and I'm sure the website will come up.  All the information you need will be there.

You can apply as soon as you really are terminated - that would be, AFTER you are terminated.  So, as soon as you're done work on the 31st.
