WHEN you open a paypal account does that mean that they own your credit card?

basically do they own all the available funds- aka holding funds?

  1. No. It just means if you buy something on ebay or another online vendor you can pay for it with your email.


  2. They do not own your card, but can make charges to it depending on your activity.

    One thing to keep in mind though, if you give your Debit Card number to a merchant (of any kind) you are consenting them to access your account, so if they make charges that are not legit, the bank will process a dispute but usually will not side in your favor since you released that information to that merchant voluntarily, I know it may not seem fair but it is the truth ~ the bank has a hard time proving that it was in fact fraud and that you didn't authorize it or receive anything for it.  You would then be at the mercy of the merchant to agree that transaction wasn't approved by you.

  4. They don't own your credit card. You and the lender do. What they do is charge your credit card (or bank account) for the payments plus fees that you make with Paypal.

  5. Yep, and they can charge stuff to it an you have to pay.
