    Years ago kids sitting in a class became restless and decided to be bad.  They waited until the teacher went for more coffee then wrote hurtful and rude things on his chalkboard.  The teacher, being a spiteful and horrible person, as well as very intelligent, decided to torture the children the only way the law allowed.  The word soon spread and books were written and Algebra was born...

    (This is a work of humor, or attempted anyways!)

With the use of this system they were able to apply formulas and calculate solutions for unknown values for a class of problems typically solved today by using linear equations, quadratic equations, and indeterminate linear equations.

  12. It originated in Babylonia and Egypt.  They needed it to construct the huge monuments in each country.  Greeks later perfected it even further.
