I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell.......................... 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil..............130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway..117,740,000 barrels

Amoco..........................62,231,... barrels

Citgo Gas comes from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans.

Do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (Oil is now $90-$95 a barrel)

Here are some large companies that

DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco.... ............ 0 barrels

Conoco................ 0 barrels

Sinclair................ 0 barrels

BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels

Hess.................... 0 barrels

ARC0................... 0 barrels

  1. I buy my gas at the nearest gas station here in Saudi Arabia where I live.

You might want to check the veracity of the data that you've posted here:  http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/...

  2. Sorry, but those facts and figures are wrong.  The first poster has it right...check the link he posted.  The truth is we need to find a way to get off oil.  I think we need a 'Manhattan project'  for energy to find alternative fuels that are cheap and abundant.

  3. From what I've seen Chavez hates Bush, not Americans.    When Mr. Bush cut the low income heating oil funding to the state I live in, Mr. Chavez picked up the slack.   He probably did it just to annoy Bush, but he saved a number of lives here.

  4. A couple of points:

There was no gas rationing in the USA during the 1980's, or at any time since WWII.  There were shortages during the 1970's.

75% of the worlds confirmed oil reserves are in the middle east, so that's where we'll be getting most of it until we stop using it.  The biggest myth out there is that we don't have an alternative technology that would be practical.  We have always had alternatives.  It was political and business decisions  a century ago that got us using the stuff in the first place, and it will be political and business decisions that will get us off, if we are to survive as a Nation.

  5. We do in fact get the majority of our oil from Canada and Mexico.  And you're only one who will be hurting because you're going to be spending more in gas driving around to find a gas station that doesn't buy Middle Eastern gas.  It makes sense that people think if we don't buy their gas we'll drive down the cost.  That actually won't happen because if we don't buy it, India and China will buy it up because their economies are both booming.  Not to mention the dollar is doing terrible right now, so it's costing us much more to buy a barrel of oil than it did 5 years ago.

  6. I just thought you should know that the two nations we import the most oil and natural gas from is...

    1.Canada

    2.Mexico

So..... Yeah..... THEN comes Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

  7. Cool! Arco is cheaper AND doesn't support terror. That's all I've used for decades.

  8. Valero.  They own the wells in the United States, they own the refineries in the United States, they own trucks & stations in the United States, and they trade on the NYSE as VLO. Really when Valero or any other company buys additional supplies, it is from a common market so consumption is consumption. I own this stock and a Canadian Oil Trust as well, PrimeWest. My view is that when, not if, an embargo or some other disruption hits, these companies will still be selling every last drop of their oil. Citgo is directly owned by the Venezuelan Government, It is like shopping at Wal-Mart, where every dollar goes to the Government of China so they can shoot some more Monks. Ultimately we all need to be buying American where ever and when ever we can, and I don't just mean cars. There are American made cloths, appliances, toys(safer too!), shoes, food, and gas. If you can't find what you want "Made in USA", then look for items made by our fellow 1st World partners like Japan, UK, EU, Israel, South Africa.

As you point with this data, accurate or not, the real issue is the conscience with which we buy things. When you get your Govt bonus check or tax refund, use it to by those Items labeled "Made with Pride in the USA" Never buy Citgo gas, and Avoid those companies with bad reputations in the 3rd World and who fill their tankers in Middle eastern ports.

    Good Luck!
