WHICH is the toughest ,rugby league or American football??

rugby league is a real mans game,they receive more breaks,concussion and cuts in one season than most pro boxers do in their entire career!I remember a top american football player who played with o,j Simpson saying their is no way he'd risk life and limb playing rugby league!macho or what!

i would think rugby league because they dont wear any padding apart from a gumshield and american football players wear padding,but if american footballers didnt wear padding they might come off worse in a tackle and be injured which could end their career

Rugby, in alls it forms, without a doubt. Players don't wear crash helmets or protective armour [ well except over one bit any way, ;-)  ]

Rugby League is tougher than Gridiron.  No pads or helmets and players have to tackle and be tackled

american footbal is c**p and if the players were as tough as they think then they wouldnt be wearing all that c**p on there body for protection..

All you all seem to forget about the differences in rugby league or union and gridiron.

It is against the rules in rugby to deliver a blow while making a tackle, wrap arms and bring the ball carrier down. In gridiron, you wrap arms to tackle plus you try to break the ball carrier in half.

Rugby is a gentlemen's game played by animals. Gridiron is played by psychos and the defense wants to put every ball carrier in the cemetery, not just the hospital. Nothing is against the rules in gridiron unless the referees catch it.

Without the pads, gridiron would have 10 or more FATALITIES each game. Back 100 years ago, US president T.Roosevelt just about banned football for the rough play.
