WHO AM I? (no one got this lastnight)?

I am very well known in international cricket and they are many who respect me. I made by test debut in 2000 and my ODI debut in 1995 both in the same month and have not yet retired. I have also been in some controversy after being briefly suspended during my career. Who am I?

From the last time I asked this I can tell you that the following are incorrect answers:

Abdur Razzaq of Pakistan. I think his ODI debut was in 1996
