I'm only 13.. and I was born in 1995. Obviously I wasn't alive in the 80s but my mom always tells me great things about that decade, and I have watched numerous music videos of 80s bands rocking out. Personally, I wish I was alive in the 80s, that would've been awesome. The music, and the way people dressed, was just amazing!

The best thing about the eighties : we survived

We had pregnant mothers who smoked

We rode bikes WITHOUT A HELMET

We rode in cars with no air bags or booster seats, and a ride in the back of a truck was a special treat

We drank water from a garden hose, not a bottle

Babies slept on their stomachs in rooms with lead based paint

We ate cupcakes, Kool-aid with massive sugar, and Doritos but we were all in shape cuz WE WERE ALWAYS ACTIVE OUTSIDE

We would leave in the morning to play outside, come back when the streetlights came on, with no one able to get a hold of us all day, and we were all OK

We would spend all day building go carts out of scraps, then race them down steep hills only to realize we forgot to add brakes, and we did it over and over again

There was no 250 channels on TV, no cell phones, no internet chat rooms, we had lots of friends and we went outside to find them

We fell out of trees, ate worms, got BB guns for our birthday and no one shot their eye out

You got cut from Little League if you were not good enough, so you had to work harder to play next year, not buy your way onto a sure fire team

If you broke the law, your parents sided with the police

The 80's had the best music, the best cartoons and the best toys.

I also loved all the funky style we had back in the 80's too.
