Question:

WHOA I just made the biggest mistake ever?

I wrote an email to the student advisers at one of my dream colleges. I wrote an email to college A asking 2-3 questions and telling the adviser how I really liked the school and wanted to attend the certain program....now because I was too lazy to rewrite a new email, I decided to write to school B the same email (but obviously changing names..e.t.c) but I accidently sent the email without changing the names. So basically school B got an email saying how much I really liked school A.

Will this turn against me when I apply to school B in the fall?

(they'll know that they weren't my first priority)

  1. No not at all. You can e-mail them again apologize about sending the e-mail and send them the correct one.

    No worries at all.

  2. Whoops. Hopefully they don't notice (don't know how many times you mentioned the school). I honestly don't know if they keep track of letters they receive from students (or, if they do, if anyone glances at them during the actual application process). They might or might not hold it against you when actually considering your application. I doubt they'd blackball you for that alone. Just remember:

    1) Don't not apply to the school just because of this.

    2) Don't make a similar mistake when you submit your actual application.

    3) There are lots of colleges in the country-- apply to a lot of them and you're sure to get into at least one good one.

  3. you should probably change your e-mail or something.

ohh I hope that was a good suggestion

  4. I'm guessing they don't pay much attention to that .they probally wont care.

  5. Ouch. Probably.
