Question:

WHY ARE BATTERIES IN DIGITAL CAMERA NOT LASTING?

Seems like everytime I go to use my digital camera the batteries are

dead. It is turned off when not in use and not used that often. Any

suggestions or advise? The camera is a Kodak EasyShare C643 and is probably less than 5 yrs old.

  1. Some of the older cameras simply drain the batteries regardless of what you do.  You should look into turning off extra features on your LCD if you have any.  Also, look into buying the highly regarded Sanyo Eneloop rechargable batteries.   These batteries hold their charge longer, and last longer than most other rechargable batteries.

  2. Are they rechargeable batteries you are using? Some of them don't hold a charge for too long when storing them for long periods, especially if they are well used.

Your camera might also be bleeding off some of the charge on the batties even though it is turned off. Most cameras have a clock on board that requires a small amount of power to operate. Maybe take the batteries out of the camera if you are going to store it for long periods.

  3. try some lithium batteries. 7x longer than normal alkaline
