WHY DO ALL THE TOP CONTRIBUTORS IN PHYSICS HAVE AN OMEGA IN THEIR NAMES? Uhh?

Omega refers to ratio of the observed density of the Universe to the critical density of the Universe.

For most, I suspect it's a big "goof", and the one I'm thinking of does not take this site, himself, or his/other's answers too seriously.  For others...

The lowest member of a wolf pack is called the "omega wolf".  There is none lower.

Perhaps some wish others to believe that they are in some way "special".  Like a clique of 8th grade cheer leaders.  

The "true" purpose of it is to have curious users of Yahoo post up and ask this very question.  

Perhaps it is short for Ωεθιπαδικ, the Ancient Greek word for Troll.  OK, I made that up.
