WHY DO WE NEED 639 MPs ???

Truth is, we don't. We are governed by the EU, our so called MPs are simply going through the motions (pmsl quite literally) to justify their huge incomes and even more huge expenses. Whilst they have tried to convince us for years that government has been "de-centralised" the truth is that our local and regional reps have bog all to do with what is happening in our areas, they are simply mouthpieces for the party in power, who in turn are mouthpieces for our EU masters. Whilst I abhor the EU and all it stands for, I would have great respect for an MP who stood up and told it like it is.

Those who are responsible for overseeing the needs of a particular borough should not be MPs, they should be what they originally were, local councillors who cared about local people. Todays councillors are more concerned about their own power and are bowing to their political masters, their subsequent entry into being local MPs and then hopefully entering into and moving up the political ladder has taken precedence.over their initial desire to serve local people.

I live in a large city, why am I paying for dozens of councillors to argue over what is best for said people? The people know best, they have no argument, they simply want those in power, those they have elected,  to do what they have elected them to do.

Same goes for the whole country, do what you were elected to do, those in opposition should not be paid via my taxes to challenge those who oppose them. Were they better I would have voted for them. We, the electorate, are paying for both sides, neither of which is doing what we are paying them for. Madness, utter madness.   .  .

We don't.  America only has two Senators for each State, totaling 100 in all.

Because we need 1 for all 646 county's.

So depending on demographics & surveys'the boundaries for areas for voting can be adjusted by the party in power so the result can be influenced in favour for that party
