Once you really get into it, it is really interesting.  It is truly amazing.  Plus, you won't sound like a dummy when conversing with others.

We  studt History to change the future. To learn the mistake done in

the past. Bcoz if we do not know the past we may  repeat the same mistake.

we learn history to know wheather that..  if again the same rule of

british or etc will come again in our country then we can do the same

things that our ansestors did without making mistake. it also gives us

information and pride that how the people of our country gave thier

livess for us and how did they fight against anything. the stone age

man gives information about the ancient period / history..

to know where somethings come from.

to not repeat history.

to torture students.

i think dis is a stupid question..sory 2 say dat...but jus think wat v r without our history...2de wat v r only bcoz of our history...

history helps us 2 kno bout our culture,our previous generations...so 1 must kno his/her(country) history.

Because knowing the past helps us understand our future and the future of our country it helps us understand how this country came to be how this country became a free country and how we became a free nation.Because it helps us understand the mistakes other people have done in a way to teach us not to repeat the same mistake they did in the past.Because it helps us understand the will be future of this world.

To learn about a nation, culture, government, etc. as it progresses through time. To learn from past mistakes (as seen in government & politics) and avoid them in the future. To build upon the then & now to have a better next. To learn why we are what we are today.
