WHY DOES COLDPLAY NOT COME ANYWHERE NEAR PITTSBURGH PA?

  1. Well, I can't tell you for sure, but there are likely several factors at play.

    Pittsburgh has a 10% amusement tax that automatically drives up the price of any ticket sold.  A lot of artists don't like that because they have to adjust their prices to accommodate the tax and they end up making less money.

    It could have been lack of available venues.  I'd guess the only venues Coldplay would consider would be the Mellon arena or the Post-Gazette Pavillion.  Maybe the band's available dates and these venue's dates didn't jive.

    Some bands don't like the Arena because it's old and not a great place to play.  Maybe there was a nicer venue in, say, DC or even Detroit and decided to go there instead.
