I've heard her sing live on FNMTV. And she sounded horrible. She was singing '7 Things'.

In the program they film sequences with her dancing and with only a quiet backing track to keep time.

It's easier and cheaper to post-synch the sound with singing in a studio.

It's for YOUR benefit. Do you want to hear her puffing and panting as she tries to dance AND sing?

In any case it avoids the need to have a radio mike and sender unit (the little pack they generally have in the back of their pants) with a variable signal.
