WHY DOES MY WiNDOWS MOVIE MAKER FREEZE WHEN I TRY TO SAVE THE VIDEO?

It happened on my old computer, and it's happening on this one too! I make a movie, add movie files or pictures, music sometimes, sometimes subtitles. I click "save project as" and save the project no problem. But when i'm finished making it, and i click "save to my computer" it freezes. it never says "save in high quality" or anything like that. As soon as I click anything like save to computer, save to disk, to internet, etc, it freezes. THEN when i close it because its not responding so I click end now, whenever i right click something to copy, paste, properties, anything, if i click for example copy, the little highlighted blue bar that says "copy" stays in front of all my programs until i restart the computer. once this started, i used movie maker on the guest account, but it freezed there too one day.

Anyone know what to do?

Is there a video making software free EXACTLY like movie maker i can download?

I don't know of any downloadable software (I prefer iMove...) but I have used Movie Maker for a long time, and I have discovered that it  likes to freeze a lot.  A tip I have found to work in most situations is to keep pressing the shift key until it un-freezes.  Hopefully this works for you.
