I DO REALIZE THAT WRESTLING ISN'T A LEGIT SPORT AND ITS PARTIALLY FAKE. BUT, ITS STILL 100X AS ENTERTAINING THAN BOXING.

Its a sport, and a great sport at that

its at a low point right now, but i belive it will perservere

WWE is fake, and there all juiced

  5. pro wrestling is g*y...  you said its "PARTIALLY FAKE"... LMFAO!!

  6. Entertainment and sport are two different things. However, they can happen at the same time.

For example, you might attend a real wrestling match (i.e. college amateur wrestling bout) and be very entertained by a particularly fast-paced match.

On the other hand, the very next match might be longer and quite boring, but it may be a better match (i.e. a close, technical contest between two closely matched, excellent wrestlers).

Someone who really understands wrestling will enjoy that second match more, because of the skill involved and the unpredictable outcome.

Sometimes we can have both outlandish spectacle and quality. Matches can be entertaining for reasons beyond the normal expectations of the sport. Muhammed Ali comes to mind as a  showman whose entertainment value was often quite separate from his abilities as a boxer. He appealed to people who knew nothing about boxing. He also appealed to boxing experts.

Ali took a page from Gorgeous George, the famed showman and wrestler. So, if Ali appreciated wrestling (and he certainly  did, he even appeared in some noted wrestling bouts), we can all find value in "partially fake" wrestling. Boxing matches have been fixed, so no one who knows boxing will say it is not sometimes a circus as well. (Don King anyone?)

Boxing is called the "sweet science" because it is quite technical. It has a limited but highly honed skill-set, and it is the non plus ultra of striking technique. Western boxing, once you understand it, is perhaps the most exciting of sports: two men alone in a ring, only one winner, under the toughest conditions (nothing is tougher than 10 rounds of boxing). Boxing is very entertaining, with an understanding of the sport.

I acknowledge that some "fake" wrestlers are also very competent in their own sports. Some are actual wrestlers; some are ex-football players; some, like Jesse Ventura, are military men (ex Navy Seal). And some of the bouts have had very real injuries. Still, everyone expects pro-wrestling to be a spectacle, and stretching the truth makes a good story.

If you get to know boxing, you might just find that you can appreciate its real story  just as much as pro wrestling. Boxing matches can be very entertaining once you appreciate the sport. You will still enjoy wrestling better, but might alter your 100x  odds.

    Cheers!

  7. you answered your own question, when you said wrestling is fake. it is scripted and they are in the position to make it as exciting as they want, where as boxing is for real and and they have no control over whether the fight is a bad match-up or good match-up. i don't know how old you are, but did you ever see tapes of ali vs. fraszier, ali vs. forman, sugar ray lenard vs. tommy hearns, now those were exciting!

  8. It's because wrestling offers more entertainment then boxing.
