Because the people in the north see the lower crime rates in the south, and don't want to admit they (northerners) screwed up by going taking the totally liberal approach to crime (they called it 'progressive').  So they say a bunch of ignorant things and make a bunch of ignorant stereotypes about the south.

Because the north has all these big cities and they have all their fashion and all that.the south is simple and fun. but to me if u say u hate the south it just shows me how ignorant you are and just embarrasses the northern states that u would be so stupid.
