think that ALL people in prison are guilty?? People today are so easily brainwashed by media and society. "The TV news said so and so killed so and so" ...therefore its true. There are so many innocent people in our prisons due to our courts and justice system being a joke and have their own prejudices within themselves. Its sickening. I did not say EVERYONE is innocent, there are many people in prison that deserve to be there, or worse. In fact, there are even more wallking free on the street that deserve to be IN prison...yet walk free, again due to our "intelligent" justice system. Why are people so quick to believe what they hear?

I asked in this catergory, because there are usually more adults here, and a lot people. ...that and its my favorite section!

  1. Our police and detectives are human, they take the path of least resistance. They will be looked down on for their abilities not to catch the real bad guy so for them it is easier to look for someone who might fit the criminal profile which could maybe look like he or she did it and close their case and cash their paycheck. this kind of stuff is done from our rookie police officers and goes all the way to our president. It's all about money and success and what this country has turned into. Thats why everyone is moving here from other countries, its all about money my friend

  2. Most prisoners are guilty. If anything we go the other way to protect the guilty vs jailing the innocent. The sytem is not perfect. It always need to improve. But it works. And it works because it is a new system and has nothing to do with the media.

Before you start these statements, remember that with out evidence, you are just another person with an opinion, just like the media.

  3. All I have to say is:

Thank goodness we are learning more and more about DNA and how to link people to certain places, times, etc.  Pretty soon there will not be a question of innocence in those kinds of cases.

  4. Unfortunately, our justice system is made of humans, and I say not so perfect humans.  True, there are innocent people in our prisons, but because some humans seem to have more power than another human they get sent off.  There are some serious wicked people out there that should not only be in prison, but be on death row.   But unfortunately, only the people who really know the truth about their crimes, are running free.  I wish there were better answers for this.  I would love to remove all the harmful people of this world, permanently.  But we can't.

  5. I don't say that everyone in prison is guilty but I will say that 99.9 % of prisoners say that they are Not guilty (even though they are). I don't agree with you that so many innocent people in prison. It is true that there are some people in prison that did not commit the crime but many of those are people that decided to "confess" to a crime they did not commit or was a  "look out"  for someone who killed someone else or a person who kills someone yet honestly has no recollection. A  totally innocent person in prison is very rare. The reason that the majority of people automatically believe that all persons in prison are guilty is because these people were given a fair trial & an appeal and were found Guilty by a judge or jury of their peers.

While you may think that the justice system is a joke it is the only system that we have. They do say that  ...   "If you can't do the time  ...  don't do the crime"

p.s.  I don't need the 10 points & I could care less if anyone disagrees.

  6. People are not sent to prison unless their guilt has been proven "beyond a reasonable doubt".  If it's good enough for a jury, it's good enough for me.

  7. I believe that it is the opposite. Our justice system is based upon the theory that it is better that a guilty person go free than an innocent one go to jail or prison. That is how the entire concept of "reasonable doubt" was designed. The burden is placed upon the prosecutor to prove the defendant guilty... and in this day and age it is almost impossible to find a jury that wants to convict a person of anything... You are correct in that there are too many lives ruined because of poorly run trials or prejudice- There are high profile cases where DNA technology has freed individuals that were wrongly convicted and imprisoned for years... but far more often do the guilty get of scott free. Often times the Police, Judge, Prosecutor, and sadly the Defense attorney all know that a defendant is guilty but they can't get a conviction because of some loophole or an irrelevant piece of evidence that the defense gets thrown out.... Our prisons are not full enough and the punishments should be so severe that people are scared to death to break the law.

  8. My brother is sitting in Prison for a hate crime he didn't even do. My brother is white the guys who tried to rob him were not white. Well my brother defended himself. He didn't hurt them or anything he was just sticking up for himself they got the whole thing on camera at a BP gas station.

Guess what he is now in Prison because the black men screamed racism. The even were armed but my brother went to jail that night because they said he was picking on them because they were black. It didn't matter what the tape showed or the fact my brother had a friend with him as well who seen it all.

The court sided with them and my brother is been sitting in jail now for 3 years who knows when he is going to get out. Pretty sad you can't defend yourself from a robbery without being accused of being a raciest.

  9. My father was murdered by a person or people who's name(s) I will never know.. A close friend was murdered by people, who wore his blood, dripping from their clothes after they stabbed him 17 times in the heart and over 65 defensive wounds on his body... and yet, after they admitted it, after they were found guilty in criminal court of premeditated murder in front of his parents, who they also beat badly, they were allowed to walk the streets pending their appeal.. for an entire year.. 5 admitted murderers, 5 convicted murderers walking the streets for a year, because of the system that is said to be "Justice"...and yes, there are many many people in prisons and jails that either are innocent, or their crime does not warrant the amount of penalty given while others walk through technicalities or other nonsense...  The majority of people automatically believe, because they have to.. to think that the man standing in line behind you is a murderer, a pedophile, a rapist, and they are free or that an innocent person is wasting his life, while his family and life are torn apart because of a wrongful conviction, is beyond the mind's conception, the ability to rationalize and understand. There is a need for us all to believe that there are rules which govern our lives and make sense.. to know it all is a veil of mystery and illusion is too much for the average person to acknowledge and continue to live their life.
