The stereotypes are no secret...I heard professors all the time making comments like 'even a psychology major could understand this'...There prejiduces are well founded though:
Sociology majors year take eg.
Sociology 301, Sociology 303 ...two core courses and then all random intro options. Second year I'm taking Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Honours Calc IV, etc PLUS two political science courses at the 300 level intended for poli sci majors....
I'm taking my course load + what social science majors are expected to take
The drop in intensity between the two faculties is obvious ...just look at the program requirements.
It's irritating when I hear people talking about how difficult their sociology lecture was when we're doing the exact same courses AND being forced to take intense courses like Real Analysis or Differential Geometry ...
Although I have respect for you, you're not our equals ...and it really shows a lack of understanding to assume this.
