on some things they say not to use alkaline why

  1. If the gadget was designed to use a rechargeable battery. You may not use an Alkaline for safety. You may forget and charge it. Alkalines are not rechargeable.

    Another reason is that an Alkaline battery voltage (1.5V) is higher than rechargeables (1.2V).
