WHY WONT SHE SLEEP???

Question

Ok so my daugher is 4 1/2 months old. I always has trouble gettin her to sleep and keeping her asleep.

She sleeps through the night very well, but will ABSOLUTLY not sleep during the day, well she will but only once or twice anywhere from 20-40mins. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do?

O and she is also very cranky, rubs her eyes alot, and is noticably tired. I try everything to get her to sleep. When she sleeps the smallest thing wakes her, but during the night shes out cold, nothing wakes her.

my daughter is 41/2 month old too, sleep very well at night, but only take 2x20 minutes power nap at daytime, easily wake up at daytime but deep sleep at night.

I heard "gifted, smart" baby do this, they want to learn everything, so i just have to deal with it.

most people said, its way better because she sleeps through the night.

Interesting! Maybe she is a very bright kid! Try stimulating her with music, singing, soft babybooks, reading to her and showing her pictures and talking to her about all kinds of stuff. You could carry her on your body that's also very good for baby's intelligence. All this might help her fall asleep easier also, cause it costs energy to take in new info :))) have fun with your little girl!

My four month old is exactly the same way.  And it drives her dad (who works graveyard and watches the baby during the day) absolutely bonkers.  What we've done just to get her to sleep at all is to put her in her swing.  She has one of the graco swings and will sleep in that.  If that doesn't work, put her down and see if she'll self-soothe herself to sleep.  Let her cry for like 5 minutes, if she doesn't go to sleep after a while, pick her back up and soothe her.  That's what has worked for my little one :-)  Good luck
