WHY WONT THEY HIRE ME?

I applied for a postion in Bar/ rest as a Prep cook I have done prep cook for years good refrences I am 55 talked to manager I was the only one that applied and we got along great and he said he would recomend me to owner and he would call me I call every day for a week and he dont know why the guy wont call is there any suggestions I could do ? thanks

If they are not prefer you leave it.

In this World there are more opputunities waiting for you. Submit C.V to  another bar/rest and waiting for their call.

Ofcourse you have a chance.

Age is not a big problem. If you are an expert you will get.

Um.... I don't think there is really anything you can do. You can also try to call the manger and ask him. Your best hope is to wait and hope that he will call you. If it starts taking a long time though like more than 2 weeks then I suggest you go apply for another job elsewhere.

Um call them and see what's up. Ask to speak to the owner.

Unfortunately, maybe it has something to do with your age.

Maybe if you stop back down there and ask what's going on. . .

Other than that, maybe you should look elsewhere.

There is a chance that they already chose someone for the position - its a legal requirement that they advertise to to the public and conduct interviews. I have had my time wasted many times.

I'd stop in and talk to the manager again.  It could be any number of things that have caused them not to call back.  Sounds like your quite experienced and maybe they found your requested wage was too high, or they've put the job on hold.
