ABSURD! MOVE and never build there again. Why are we rebuilding Louisiana when it will be under water AGAIN.... and again, and again

  1. You dont understand human nature. People live where they want to. If you refuse to help them, go to Iraq where you can hurt people.


  2. Why do people live where hurricanes make a path? Dunno. Maybe its because its next to life-giving water.

  3. I concur with the idea of why live next to disaster when historically disaster has struck.  One puts himself in harm's way and rest assured, harm will come. So many who were wiped out were poor who had no other place to live. These were the houses they could afford and in the places with least value. The population of New Orleans will never again reach the pinnacle it had prior to the Hurricanes and d**e ruptures and pump failures.

  4. Land is inexpensive in or near flood plains.

    Developers can borrow money to build homes, sell the homes, and move on.  Meanwhile when the fifty or one hundred year floods occur, disaster funds underwrite losses.

    The US Army Corps of Engineers builds levees for a reason.  Is anyone listening?
