Thanks. It turns out there was a volume controlling function in the menu. Phewwwwww... It just seemed like my tv people were pushing the commercials on us. It was horribly annoying.

  1. That is a poor management on the part of the TV station itself. The signal is of varying volumes.

    What can you do?

-See if your TV has a volume levelling feature. This feature tries to keep the volume the same (but rarely found nowadays since TV station do a good job). If it does, it will be under the SOUND portion of the menus. If you have a cable or satellite box, it might have the feature built it as well.

-Try turning your TV to MONO sound. It can help in the rare case that the TV signal is of fluctuating strength.

  2. Commercials are designed that way so that they grab your attention.  Some TV sets now have volume settings that keep commercials at the same level as the shows you're watching.

  3. You go into the kitchen for a bite while the commercial is on, how they going to get you to hear that commercial? The TV station is paid to increase the volume, during commercial.

Now go watch a PBS station with the only commercial is PBS pluggin itself, they don't increase the volume?

And it's all perfectly legal there is nothing you can do, but click the mute button on the remote.
