I just saw the news about the spanish basketball team, and frankly i'm shocked. Why make fun of another race like that? Especially during a time like the Olympics, which promotes world unity. They are being racist b******s as far as I'm concerned. Can I get opinions on racism in general?

here's the link to the article/picture of them "making fun" of the chinese and basically killing their country's reputation, even if not everyone in the country is like that: http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Spanish-basketball-team-poses-for-offensive-pict?urn=oly,100152

  1. because the world keeps on turning my friend and they are going to be hiding under a stone waiting to jump out

  2. AND, Frances' Swim/Diving Team 'ridiculed' Michael Phelps and the American Team..............SO WHAT!

The Spanish team may have done it in 'jest' being they are in CHINA...childish behavior....After all, the Chinese eyes ARE SLANTED....or haven't you NOTICED!

Not necessarily to make 'fun of'  but, I don't think it was meant as that!

Racism is Racism, you're not going to 'change' Racists thoughts or actions. Everyone was born with a 'free will'....how they use it is up to them.  I suggest you get  'control'  of yourself and STOP SPREADING this "Anti-Racist" Propaganda!

As you stated, "They are being racist b******s as far as I'm concerned". Isn't that using YOUR Free will/speech, or have I missed something...we STILL have Freedom of Speech, last I heard!!

  3. Because there are still races in the world.  That wasn't racist, by the way as no ill will was involved and I'm sure the Chinese team had a good chuckle from it unlike the political correctness inquisition members out there.

  4. Because sadly racism will NEVER go away.  Racist people usually hand the hate down to their children whether it's directly or indirectly.

  5. There are still races.

  6. they are not worthy to be on a team!

  7. As long as there are different races in the world, there will be racism. ALL races can be racists. It's kind of like thinking that your country is the best, or your school is the best.

  8. It's biology... We are animals after all... thinking animals, but animals nonetheless. All animals have an instinctive drive to make their species the dominant one in their territory. Being thinking animals, we try to suppress that urge, but it's there and some are more susceptible to it than others.

  9. the world is full of them.

  10. Because some people want to wallow in a pathetic viewpoint and can't understand the very simple truth that skin colour means nothing, we are all human. It's the reason why human beings will always be at war with one another.

As for the Spanish, they should just be expelled from all sporting events. Since they can't behave themselves at the Olympics, at football or at motor racing and their government shows little interest in punishing their moronic citizens then it is up to the rest of the world to dish out the punishment. Maybe losing out on the valuable income sport brings them will make them re-think their behaviour since they seem to lack basic manners.

  11. It's called free will just as you have the right to call them racist b******s they have the right to ignore your opinion and think what they like or as i suspect you think everyone has to think as you do or if they don't then it's wrong and should be banned.

  12. I believe the Spaniards must be similar to Greeks (where I live) that they really have no idea that actions such as making their eyes slanted is not acceptable. They are in countries with very few foreigners and do not have such mixed schools - therefore they really have no knowledge of mixing with other nationalities besides tourists.

  13. Looks to me like yet another thing the media is blowing out of proportion.

  14. It's endemic to human nature. Racism been around for millennia and, I'm sorry to say, will probably be with us forever.
