WHY do Americans believe everything the government tells them??

most people i know think the government is dishonest and stealing from the poor to give to the rich. why do americans allow this?? in countries like iraq we critisize the people for being violent. how would the average american feel if our country was invaded over a lie told by a foreign leader?? wouldnt that make you feel like being violent ???

The answer to your initial question is simply this: The United States of America is only partly a capitalistic society. There is no such thing as a truly "free" country and every capitalistic society has some form of socialism mixed in with it. The final answer to your question: "It is the government."  (and they can do what they want to you, right or wrong. So, are you gonna be the one to stand against it? Do you have enough money to hire a lawyer to fight all the injustice? Besides the gov't has immunity on most things. I guess we all could move to another country?)

Americans feel helpless to change it, so they naturally try to live their lives without digging too deeply to find out why and when the government is lying to them.  Ignorance is bliss, even if intentional.

Nothing is perfect  - and it is a good thing they have faults else we would all be in trouble if they were that good....

what lie was told? the sadam had wmd's and even before the second "invasion" when the tropps were in kuwait do you remember the rockets that were fired at them and how the UN was upset as those were banned missiles and wmd's? anyway the wmd are probably in syria at the moment ....

and anyway if someone was foolish enough to try to invade the us they have a military and a population who wouldn't just lie down and accept being over run like the iraqi's were as they were glad to see he end of so damned insane (sadam husein...).

Honestly ? This is only my opinion but I think they watch too much TV and it begins to blur reality. Some people on 9/11 watched and thought it was a movie ? Hmmm? doesn't that tell you something ?

Who controls the media ? G.E.!! Who owns G.E ? Banks like Chase,JP Morgan, etc. Well who owns them ? Follow the money trail ~!
