Question:

WHY do i do this? HELP?

every morning i have an outfit laid out. ill put it on. next thing you know, im staring in the mirror deciding its not good enough. i might change six times and end up back in the same outfit! i waste tons of time and have often been late for the bus because i lost track of time while changing and reapplying makeup and rebrushing my hair.

is this some sort of mental thing? can anyone explain why im so driven to do this every morning?

  1. In my opinion, I think we do that because we feel it will never be right. So as we keep trying to fill that bill of ‘perfection,’ which can never be achieved. The thing is, day in and day out we are being bombarded with messages that scream we aren't good enough!

    Just look at all the ads you see and hear, on TV, bill boards, busses, signs, magazines, the radio… all telling us we are not good enough! We must “…smell better; look better; be… prettier, smarter, bigger, smaller, darker, lighter, younger, etc…” And it's just to sell you their product. In other words, it’s a lie in order to generate wealth for corporations skilled in psychology in order to manipulate us. It’s a hard thing to fight when we’ve heard it all our lives.

    Something that helps is telling yourself that you are perfect just as God made you! You ARE already beautiful! Write down the things that make you special and unique. Then everyday read your list and remind yourself of the blessing you are. I hope this helps, Love. God Bless and Good Luck.


  2. maybe you're an adrenalin addict...your body gets pumped up with adrenalin every time you get excited in the rush not to get late...the clothes you choose in every time you do this doesn't really matter...as long as you choose it by the time that you almost get late...

  5. insecurity and peer pressure. I do not miss those days. relax and try to learn to love and accept yourself.
