how long does it take to break in a new pair of shoes? ( how many miles)

why do you need to break in a new pair of running shoes?

why does it feel so uncomfortable( legs feel like concrete and harder to breathe and run) when first wearing new running shoes

Ok I dont know about this other person but you have to break in your shoes so that you will get a feel for them and so that they get accustomed to your feet especially if your changing from a different shoe. At first they will feel like they are holding you back, it should not affect your breathing that much, if that continues you might want to check with your doc. Give it a week and if they still feel hard you might wat to change shoes but by then everything should be loose and you should be feeling normal again. I just got some new running shoes after i've been changing in and out of the same pair for about three years, i know exactly what you are going through.

  3. New shoes do not need to be broken in. They are made from modern materials and not leather.

    They should fit correctly and not hurt your feet.

    I don't think the shoes make your feet feel like concrete, there is probably another reason.

    The shoes certainly will not make it harder to breath.
